Fuerteventura – Learn to Surf on the Canary Islands
Surfspots with perfect Conditions for every Level
-
Fuerteventura was discovered as a surf destination by traveling surfers in the 1980s. What they found was a volcanic chain of islands, surrounded by deep sea trenches where swells could travel to the coast without being chocked off. On Fuerteventura you can find everything – from perfect beach breaks over reefs to fast point breaks.

Warm water all year round
Fuerteventura offers the huge advantage of living on an island. In contrast to a straight coastline on the mainland, there are a lot of different surf spots surrounding Corralejo in the north, east and west within a short distance.
And best of all: no matter what the conditions are, the perfect location of our surf school in Corralejo guarantees you to be close to the perfect surf spot each day of the year. If the waves on the west coast are too strong for beginners, you will find nice mellow waves in sheltered bays in the east. And regardless of the wind direction – somewhere there is always going to be off shore!

Unlike the Spanish mainland and the rest of Europe, the water on the Canaries will stay warm even in winter. The water temperature lies between 24 degrees in summer and 18 degrees in winter. Known as the island of eternal summer, the weather on Fuerteventura stays warm and sunny all year round. Up to 25 degrees in winter and more than 30 degrees in summer makes Fuerteventura a perfect surf destination any time of the year!
Sunwave Surfcamp is located in Corralejo, the surf capital of Fuerteventura in the north of the island. With Corralejo as a base you are able to reach the best spots on three coasts in 10 to 20 minutes by car. What are you waiting for?
